The female body is miracle creating.
It’s beautiful, resilient and does such a tough job.
Whether you are a new mum, or years postpartum, your body needs care, healing and love. The postpartum period begins at your baby's birth, but the hormonal and physical changes we experience as women through motherhood and into menopause are continual.
Movement Therapy supports you to rebuild strength and reconnect with your body after pregnancy and birth. Beyond postpartum it helps you maintain core strength, muscle tone, bone density and suppleness as your hormones change again.
Sessions focus on:
Deep core and pelvic floor connection
Safe strengthening
Healing the abdominals and diastasis recti (if needed)
Correcting postural changes
Feeling strong in your body’s daily requirements

Generally, a minimum of 3 sessions will ensure we can rebuild the basics safely.
In our initial session we will:
Check your abdominals and regain control of them if you have any splitting (Diastasis recti)
Assess your hip complex for imbalances post pregnancy and birth
Assess your shoulder and neck complex for imbalances post newborn
Discuss and asses any other symptoms or issues you are having
Make a plan for homework exercises to support your body in staying strong and aligned

The typical recommendation is to rest for 6 weeks after birth. Each birth and pregnancy are undeniably unique, so please get in touch with details and I will recommend when would be best.
If you are more recently postpartum, breath work, gentle deep abdominal reconnection and hands-on fascia release around the lower back and abdominals is hugely effective in healing Diastasis Recti (abdominal splitting).
If you are months or even years postpartum, there is never a bad time to recondition your abdominals and pelvic floor properly.

Movement Therapy blends release and activation as is needed.
Expect hands-on fascia release, cupping therapy and muscle testing combined with strengthening through pilates, reformer, yoga and prop assisted rehab exercises.
Postpartum, fascia release of the lower back, waist and stomach can significantly support the body in its healing process.

All sessions are 45 minutes and cost £75. 1 hour 30 mins double sessions are available for extended abdominal and back release.
